Our next regularly scheduled meeting is February 18, 2010 at Sardis Presbyterian Church. Helda Ryan will be our Toastmaster for the evening. We are an "open" club, accepting new members, and welcoming all guests. Come grow with us!
Summary of Feb 4th Meeting:
When your meeting theme is "Chocolate", how can it not be sweet! Even Hilda Ryan, our Table Topics Master, made the table topics about Chocolate. We had 13 members and 4 guests in attendance. Wendy Warne, a member since April 2009, ran a great meeting in her first turn as Toastmaster. Montez Roman made us chuckle as the Joke Master for the evening.
We had two speakers Thursday night. Dave Seigler gave his seventh speech titled "Keeping Abe Honest" where we learned about the history of counterfeiting. Rob Eggers spoke to us about how to handle adversity in his speech titled "How Long Can You Tread Water?" Ribbon winners: Yvonne Musterman - Best Table Topic Speaker, Rob Eggers - Best Speaker, and Vernon Roberts - Best Evaluator.
We enjoyed the company of our four guests Nancy (Duke Energy Club), Jeremy, Pam and Tarah. Tarah visited us for the second time and is looking forward to joining at the February 18th meeting. We look forward to the return of all our guests.
