Meeting Notes:
Leigh Handrigan presided as Toastmaster over the August 21, 2008 meeting - and no one would have suspected this was only her second time in that role! Leigh had the honor also of pinning on the latest President's Distiguished ribbon to the club flag tonight as we celebrated a perfect 10 out of 10 goals for the year. This award was for every single one of the members of Hornet's Nest - it took a true club effort to meet such an acheivement. We had another special guest tonight, our past Area Governor Alexandra Kiersted awarded Irma Blanchett with the award for her first place finish in the Area 72 / Division G / District 37 International Speech Contest! Irma also delivered a prepared speech, "How To Sell Just About Anything" (you didn;t want to miss this one!) and Mark Odiorne picked up a ribbon for Best Table Topics. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, those of you who missed this meeting will be kicking yourselves, we had some great food at this meeting to celebrate the Ribbon ceremony.
Note: We are meeting in a new room in the Education Building, Building #1 (behind the sanctuary) - Room 105
Our next scheduled meeting is September 4, 2008. We are an "open" club, accepting new members, and welcome all guests. Come grow with us!
